Wow. This is pretty amazing. I just thought you decorated a cake with origami at first, now I see the whole thing is made from paper! I've never seen something like this before and it looks beautiful. I'm curious as to how you got the idea.
Im glad you like it ^^ I found the outline of it in internet on some paper crafting forum (sadly its only in russian which I don't understand). Because of the language I was guessing how many triangles in which color I needed It was kind of fun XDDD
I would have never thought it possible to make such a beautiful cake from such a simple assembly of units, the idea is so down to earth, but the presentation is just fantastic!
The various hights as well as the green highlights in the bottom layer of the cake really made this stand out for me. more than just the frosting on the cake, it was the base and the center that really added so much to this piece. The flowers and decorations truly, were done very well. Your folds are crisp and precise, and you really took into great consideration the colors to make for the best aesthetic appearance.
The only thing I could mention, is the chain going around the cake at the bottom. It seems as though it is slightly loose, or perhaps it just wasn't connected correctly, but that of course could just be due to how it was photgraphed.
Overall, the piece is magnificent, and highly deserving of being the work of the month for Origami-United.
Im not trying to be overly critical, I was only trying to remain objective in the critique.
As for the chain, don't worry about it. Like I said, for the sake of the critique, I was only pointing out physical facts regarding the piece. Some units are just less sturdy, or require more practice than others.
Well, I was going to say sumthing cool about it but Danish wrote so nice everything I wanted to say... so I guess I'll just have to say "Ditto!". Great job on the cake! I think I might actually be drooling it looks so nummy!Nom nom nom
